When Bliss is Not Appropriate

One of the things that I miss about being in North Carolina the most, is being able to visit, eat with and be with Bo Lozoff.  His reality based spirituality was something that I always appreciated because I've seen so many people use spirituality to divorce themselves from reality instead of truly embracing it.

I stumbled upon him talking about the rush to bliss in pop spirituality culture and how bliss is not always the appropriate response. I totally agree. It is ironic that people who talk about being in the present moment would wish to be in a constant emotional state.

To accept reality does not mean that you are happy about it or that can't work to change it. All emotion can be a trap if there is no balance.
