This proves the IRS and nature are two resilient forces. There are many projects around the country that attempt to shift rivers and streams to meet human needs usually for development. Most are proven to be utter failures. Since there is little thought given to recreating the eco-systems that sustained these waterways the new locations end up producing dirtier water and pest issues. Most projects made to subvert natural waterways will have to be undone eventually. The old waterbeds will never work as regular land and the new waterway will never produce quality water. It would be great if development was curbed instead of lakes and rivers. At some point people will have to stop living in the desert.
